DANCE – Year 11 Dance students Camryn, Maria, Gloria, Michelle, Maria, Romatt and Chris travelled around the corner to support the Karaka school Pasifika Group. Year 1-8 Karaka students learned a Niue Meke and Siva Samoa.

WESLEY COLLEGE’S KAPA HAKA GROUP INVOLVED IN BEST FOODS 100-STRONG ‘COVID-19’ HAKA FOR VODAFONE WARRIORS – JUNE 2020
100 fans of the Vodafone Warriors converged at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland to perform a mass haka – highlighting to the Warriors they have five million fans across the ditch in New Zealand.
The haka was arranged by major sponsor Best Foods and is specifically designed to tell the story of our unity overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, and a tribute to The Warriors who have been forced to play the season stranded in Australia without friends, family and fans. VIDEO OF THE 100-STRONG HAKA

Student photographers Samara Faitala and Jeremiah Pole have entered the SGCNZ University of Otago Sheila Winn Shakespeare Festival student photographer competition. Both will be competing for the best photography of a performance award. Proceeds made from the sale of photographs will go to SGCNZ.

Gumboot Friday – to show support as a Nation for those whose suffer from Mental Illness. Instead of wearing gumboots, the Wesley College Kairangi committee ran a lunchtime fundraising Gumboot throwing competition. Our donations targeted the Secondary Sector of the fund which focuses on students suffering from depression.
