This morning we were privileged to have as our guests the Ikale Tahi Tongan rugby team who joined us for chapel.
They will also be using the opportunity to train using our facilities in preparation for the kick off to their 2024 World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup campaign. It was wonderful to ‘welcome home’ two Old Boys of the school - Tau Koloamatangi former Prefect and Tili Puloka as members of the Team. In addressing the School Tili shared the word IKUNA which is Tongan for victory. To achieve victory on and off the field requires hard work and perseverance. Tau shared his rugby career began as a student here at Wesley and that he has the fondest memories of staff, students and the school as one big family.
The tournament which will bring the national teams of Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, USA, Canada and Japan together will over 5 weeks beginning the 23rd of August compete to produce the Champion. Wishing all teams the best for the competition.
Go Ikale Tahi … Go Manu Samoa … Go Fijian Drua!
