Principal’s Endeavour Scholarship – Spirit of Adventure
There is one scholarship available each year for a current Wesley student aged 16 – 18 who has consistently demonstrated the school Kairangi values of Family, Respect, Responsibility and Excellence.
This scholarship is generously provided by a member of our wider school community. The recipient will be expected to write a letter of thanks following the completion of their trip and a report for the Collegian Magazine.
The scholarship covers the full cost ($2,500) of a place on a 10-day Development Voyage. The voyage should be undertaken within one year of the scholarship being awarded. The recipient will be expected to arrange their own transportation to and from the ship. This is usually Prince’s Wharf, Auckland, but occasionally there is the opportunity to join the ship elsewhere in the country should you choose to do so.
To be considered for this scholarship you must:
- Meet the Spirit of Adventure criteria for participation
- Have very good attendance at school
- Model our Kairangi Values of Family, Responsibility, Respect and Excellence
- Not have participated in a previous Spirit of Adventure trip
- Participate in a fundraising activity for Spirit of Adventure to help others get aboard.
Spirit of Adventure requires that participants must:
- be aged between 16-18 years (must not have had 19th birthday)
- meet the medical criteria of the voyage
- agree to the code of conduct /terms and conditions of the voyage
