The person with a narrow vision see a narrow horizon
The person with a wide vision sees a wide horizon

Which may sum up how we feel at the moment, it’s been hard to see past the next day, but as always these things are temporary, hopefully in a couple of weeks some normality will return to life.

As we arrive at the end of the term we thank you again for all your support during challenging times and hope you have a chance to enjoy your children being at home over the holidays, without the stresses of worrying about school work being completed! It is really important that students get some down time and enjoyment over the next two weeks before we return to school.

While it is natural that some may be anxious about coming back, we can ensure you much thought has gone into health and safety planning, considering student well being and how we will approach getting into the business end of the school year, particularly for seniors. We know already NCEA exams have been shifted to allow more preparation time and Learning Recognition Credits will be awarded, giving students every reason to feel confident that Wesley will continue it’s high performing results.

We have it all covered and can’t wait to see our students again.

If you have any concerns for your child at all, please do not hesitate to contact a Dean, Learning Coach, Counsellor, Social Worker or Dorm Parent, we are all here to help.

Some dates to calendar:

·         Return to Hostel for Term 4 – Sunday 17 October between 3 – 5pm (pending Level 2)

·         School exams Week 2 – 25 October these are very important as results may be used in special circumstances

·         NCEA exams commence – Week 6 November 22nd to Tuesday 14th December

·         Our Sports Prizegiving and main academic Prizegiving and Leavers Chapel are likely to be online this year. While that is disappointing we will take a positive approach and ensure they are still special occasions.

Below are some messages – latest Kairangi points, from the Ministry of Education and from Health officials.

See below for the latest update in Kairangi points, rewarding students for their efforts engaging with school work during lockdown.

Give a hearty congrats to your son or daughter if they are on the list! It was also great seeing so many seniors make a concerted effort over the last week or so.
